Professor Simon Cutting

Professor Simon Cutting is a bacterial geneticist and Chair of Molecular Microbiology at School of Biological Sciences, Royal Holloway University of London and CEO of SporeGen. One of the world’s leading experts in Bacillus probiotics, Professor Cutting has over 30 years experience.

Dr Hong A. Huynh

Dr Hong A. Huynh obtained her PhD in Immunology from Vietnam where she spent 20 years working with vaccines, before working in the UK as a research scientist. She is responsible for the development of a number of important Bacillus strains that have been commercialised, including HU58.

Dr William Ferreira

Dr William Ferreira is a research scientist at SporeGen with a focus on the gut microbiome and its influence on human disease. He obtained his PhD at Royal Holloway, University of London researching the influence of Bacillus on gastrointestinal disease.

We maintain the highest international standards as defined by regulatory bodies EFSA (European Food and Safety Authority) and FDA (Food and Drug Administration). The strains we work with achieved GRAS status, as well as QPS (Qualified Presumption of Safety).

Research and Development

Every one of our products is the result of extensive strain screening combining lab studies as well as in vivo. Each strain is DNA-verified and underwent thorough research before it was hand-picked for its specific targeted beneficial properties. All products are microbiologist-formulated in London and made in the UK.

Biofermentation

The viability of probiotic bacteria is greatly impacted by the way in which it has been cultured which is why we only use bacteria that has been cultivated using a hypoallergenic, vegan, non-GMO growth medium. All bacteria is bio-fermented in pharmaceutical-grade facilities (conducted under cGMP and HACCP guidelines).

Testing

All of our products have undergone independent third-party testing to ensure correct dosage (defined as CFU) of probiotic bacteria and stability. Our products adhere to GMP guidelines throughout every step of the manufacturing process including the final product.
